It’s okay if you see your Belly when you look down and not only your Breasts

I was bullied throughout my teen years for my small breasts. I always felt insecure about the fact that I saw my belly when I looked down instead of my breasts and eventually started to put my focus on it! I used to spend years sucking in my belly because I thought that was the way it was supposed to look. It took me years to discover that I could just relax my stomach when I was with other people. It took me years to get over this insecurity and I blame that on the lack of representation of diverse body types and the toxicity of diet culture.

I saw @saggysara’s post and absolutely LOVED it so I decided to recreate it in a comic. A certain point of view, angle or pose can change so much about how our bodies look in a picture, to someone or to ourselves. I wish we wouldn’t feel bad about how our body looks from a certain angle or a certain point of view. And I wish a relaxed body would become mainstream instead of the image of flexed, posed and photoshopped bodies.

If you’re reading this, I want to tell you that your relaxed body is totally normal! Your belly is normal, gorgeous and exactly how it’s supposed to be!

Love your body from every angle and with every move it takes.

I agree with what Sara said: All bodies look different! And you are absolutely gorgeous in any way 💜

I love you 💜

xoxo

I am free to be myself

My heart is pounding in my chest, I start to sweat. I know what’s happening but I still can’t help freaking out. In that moment I want to escape to somewhere no one will ever find me. I very well know what this means. This is the mental state I never wanted to find myself in again. It’s happening.. all over again.
