Video: How to Address Mental Health Struggles to Friends or Family – #RECLAIMYOURBODY Pru’s Advice

how to address mental health struggles

It’s always hard to start the conversation about mental health, but I’m offering my own personal advice on this questions I received on Instagram on how to address mental health struggles with friends and family.

Thank you for tuning in to this video. With my recent (mental and physical) health struggles (read more about that on my blog via the link below), I’ve started the #RECLAIMYOURBODY movement where I want to focus on helping as many people reclaiming their true self, their own bodies and mind while being on that journey myself.

While feeling so pressured and told to put up appearances and please others in the journey, I felt I was doing no one any good by not being true to myself. I went through surgery and promised myself to make it my mission to help as many people find some strength and solace in my stories and join me in the journey to reclaim their authentic, vulnerable and true self.

My plan is to dedicate this channel to answer your questions I get on Instagram (you can find the question boxes in my highlights called “#RECLAIMYOURBODY” on https://www.instagram.com/planetprudence or the “YouTube” highlight on https://www.instagram.com/reclaimyourbodymovement )

I’m not a doctor, but I feel like I’ve been through my own deal of pain and hardship to be able to give you some raw, honest, sisterly advice to help you along the way. I know how it feels to not be able to talk about your mental health struggles and not get taken seriously. So I hope this will help you feel understood, heard, less alone, and ready to take action and move forward.

I will post videos and dedicated blogposts on Monday and Friday answering your questions, so feel free to ask as many as you want. You can also use the comment sections of my videos or ask me questions here on my blog (you can comment anonymously on my blogposts as well)

This video is about how to address your mental health struggles to your friends and family and how you can start the conversation and who to talk to. Feel free to let me know if you have any more advice in the comments and I’m sure it will help people who stumble upon this video later as well.

I love you so much! I hope you enjoy this series.

xoxo

A letter on why your body IS enough

It's totally understandable why you believe that your body is imperfect, unworthy of love, flawed, that you show up being "brave" to show your body instead of just beautifully you. It's social media misleading us and its unrealistic expectations it has built up towards your body.
