It’s okay if all you did today was breathe

it's okay

It’s okay if all you did today was breathe

Mondays can be extremely challenging for many people and can even trigger anxiety with many of us. We are taught we’re supposed to be well rested after the weekend and released from all the stress in our lives to start a new week with renewed energy and fully charged batteries. It might get even worse when we go online and notice so many others doing awesome and are extremely productive on a gloomy Monday. The comparison game is something I truly don’t want to engage in, but is also so hard to avoid, I’m going to be completely honest here.

HOWEVER. This is not reality. We are constantly looking at someone else’s highlight reels and are daily scrolling past hundreds of photos picked out to edit and post. Some people are thriving today, others are just pulling through, then there’s a group of people whose main tasks were to keep breathing, surviving, resting and recharging.

And that is okay!

You don’t need to measure your own productivity to someone else’s.

You don’t need to meet a certain level of productivity based on what day of the week it is.

You don’t need to be productive when your body begs you to rest.

We are human beings and we are doing the best we can. Way too often, we exceed our own limits when we should’ve been so much kinder towards ourselves.

Rest is ESSENTIAL for our bodies and minds 💜

We ALL deserve self-care

I cannot emphasize the importance of self-care moments enough. When I allowed myself this self-care day, all of a sudden moments of awakening came up. My mind just felt so empty for a bit, while it’s always so full of everything.
