Hey my Loves 💜,

just for starters: I’m not pregnant! I noticed the title could be a little misleading.

I do want to talk about something else though:

These days I come across many women who are pregnant, which, if this is you, congratulations are definitely in place 💜. Baby bellies are all over social media, but even in this wonderful and beautiful period of change and growth, your body actually giving life to a new human being, many keep editing their photos and comparing bodies like crazy. There is a massive need to be back in shape, and even stay in shape throughout pregnancy. Pregnant women get nasty comments about how ugly their body is while being pregnant, or how “they” resemble the reason why anyone wouldn’t want to get conceive in the first place. Isn’t that horrible?!

We get taught that being pregnant is “ruining your bodies” and that only a few are “lucky” to maintain their body shape and weight during and after pregnancy. Discussions with new moms are more often than not about how much of the baby weight they’ve lost, and not how they’re actually doing. We all have different body shapes and our bodies all react in a different way to pregnancy and the fact is that no matter HOW the body shapes and adapts to pregancy, you should just enjoy this period, and in no way compare yourself to anyone else’s journey.

If you’re a victim to believing society’s standards are key, please keep your comments to yourself and don’t attack soon-to-be or new moms. They deserve love, and hell they’re angels. They’re giving LIFE, just like your mother did with you!

I hope you like this comic, my Loves 💜

I love you all so much! 💜
